Downtown Development
Downtown Jacksonville is undergoing a redevelopment renaissance as businesses, visitors and residents realize the excitement to be found at the heart of the "River City." Guided by the Downtown Master Plan, the Downtown Development division strives to strengthen the urban core by creating opportunities for growth and economic expansion, ensuring high-quality design standards and assisting with the development process.
 The Downtown Action Plan (PDF 2.0Mb) is a comprehensive document that captures important initiatives necessary to move downtown toward the environment we all desire. The Plan was developed by JEDC staff, consultants, and the commitment of valuable time and knowledge from numerous local professionals who participated on one of four task forces. The Downtown Action Plan gives life to the Master Plan and provides an action-oriented road map for achieving a revitalized downtown. The Action Plan Summary (PDF 2.8Mb) provides a snapshot of the Plan and outlines the 19 action steps.
 Working with Downtown Vision Inc., the 2006 State of Downtown Report is a comprehensive overview with up-to-date information on development projects, proposed, under construction or recently completed in Downtown Jacksonville.
