Mayor John Peyton appointed Martin Senterfitt as Chief of the Emergency Preparedness Division in June 2008.
Senterfitt is a 20-year veteran of JFRD and has been an executive-level participant in local, regional and statewide emergency management systems and responses on several occasions. Prior to his appointment as Division Chief of Emergency Preparedness, Senterfitt served as one of JFRD's district chiefs and was responsible for a territory including nine fire stations on Jacksonville's Westside. He also served as deputy director in JFRD's Emergency Preparedness Division from February 2005 to July 2006.
Senterfitt earned his master's degree in public administration from the University of North Florida.
As chief of the Emergency Preparedness Division, Senterfitt directs a staff of 13 personnel.
