Administration Takes Major Steps to Increase Diversity 

The 4^th Annual VyStar Emerald 5K/10K presented by JTC Running and 1st Place Sports is headed to the Northbank Riverwalk downtown on September 30, 2023. The 5K and 10K Run/Walk begin at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K/10K ride follows at 9 a.m. JTC running covers all race costs so that 100% of proceeds benefit Groundwork Jacksonville, the City’s nonprofit partner in building the Emerald Trail, and restoring McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek.

The City of Jacksonville’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, invites the public to an open house for feedback on both the redesign of James Weldon Johnson Park and the Parks Master Plan. 

National Weather Service Jacksonville has forecast dangerously hot temperatures and issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Duval County. Heat Indices, or ‘feels like” temperatures of 113°+ are forecast through Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Due to these dangerous temperatures, the City of Jacksonville Cooling Centers will be open from 12PM to 6PM.

Mayor Donna Deegan announced today that she is appointing five community leaders to serve on the Kids Hope Alliance Board of Directors. The appointees are:

ITD rebuilt and rebranded the KidsHopeAlliance.org website.

Since incorporating drone technology into ITD, we have been able to provide a high level of aerial photography and video to departments throughout the city

The Concurrency and Mobility Management System Office (CMMSO) for COJ was established as the result of the 1985 Growth Management Act by the State of Florida legislature. Mobility is considered new development, or increased intensity of use that places demand on public infrastructure. 

This project implemented 3 products: Waste Wizard, Collection Calendar, and a Mobile App, for Public Works Solid Waste Division.
