Brianna R. Deuerling joined the Office of General Counsel in April of 2024. Ms. Deuerling has over 9 years of experience in litigation prior to joining the Office of General Counsel. Ms. Deuerling tried many cases as an assistant public defender in the 10th and 4th circuits, working with adults and juveniles facing misdemeanors and felony charges. Ms. Deuerling worked with the Department of Children and Families from 2018 through 2024 litigating cases involving children and families in Florida’s dependency system.  She worked with various child welfare agencies and was part of Duval County’s Early Childhood Court.

Ms. Deuerling received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in social welfare from the University of North Florida. Ms. Deuerling obtained a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school Ms. Deuerling volunteered with various organizations and received the pro bono certificate. She has spent the majority of her time in law school and career in public service. 

Ms. Deuerling is a member of the Florida Bar and Jacksonville Bar Association.
